Apple iPhone 4S Runs HTML 5 Faster Than Android Samsung Galaxy Nexus - PerfMarks Report

Which device runs HTML 5 faster? Apple iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

HTML 5 has been tested and proven to run faster on the Apple iPhone 4S running  iOS 5.0.1, when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This claim has been proven by a recent study at Spaceport.io with a benchmark called the PerfMarks Report. The PerfMarks test determines the number of moving images on a screen at a rate of 30 FPS (frames per second). Below are recent scores of the Apple iPhone 4S vs. the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

From Spaceport's data above, we see the Apple iPhone 4S is significantly better at handling HTML 5 than anything else out on the Android market. The iPhone 4S is able to run 252 images vs. the Samsung Galaxy Nexus at 147 images at 30 FPS.

Apple iPhone VS Google Android

As you can see, year after year, Apple has beaten Android devices in both the smartphone and tablet markets with HTML 5 PerfMarks testing scores. However, the Android OS is closing the gap fast with new and faster releases such as ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich). The proposed and upcoming Google Android Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie OS releases might give Apple a run for their money with speed.

On a side note, Google Executive Chairman, Eric Schmidt stated February 28, 2012 at Mobile World Congress 2012 that people use Google Chrome because it is the most Secure, the Fastest, and it is Free! You can be rest assured that Google has their eyes set to be the fastest smartphone on the market. Here's the video of Eric Schmidt's quote about Chrome being the fastest! As we enter into a new era of cellular phone technology, quad-core smartphones are coming out and are impressively fast with quad-core smartphone technology. Intel co-founder Gordon Moore once said, “the number of transistors on a chip will double approximately every two years.” And now is the time we will be seeing super fast quad-core smartphones and tablets.

Here is the current quad-core smartphone list for 2012 of cellular phone /smart phone manufacturers and models. We have also included quad-core tablets in this list. All of these quad-core devices were announced at Mobile World Congress 2012 (MWC 2012).

The majority of the new quad-core cell phones and tablets are running the Nvidia T30S Tegra 3 quad-core processor at 1.5 GHz.  Huawei is the only manufacturer running their own K3V2 quad-core chipset at 1.5 GHz for the One XL smartphone and MediaPad 10 FHD tablet. Fujitsu is still a prototype smartphone with a water resistant and dust resistant features. There is no word yet if the quad-core smartphones will be available in the US. Currently, they will be available in Europe and Asia for 2012.
